AltClamp helps Discord servers check VPN use and identify possible linked accounts. AltClamp does not sell personal data.

1. 1When you submit a verification check, your IP address is sent over HTTPS to HackMyIP and IP99, and to ipapi.is when configured. These providers receive the IP address for reputation checks and process it under their own policies. If the connection passes, AltClamp stores an encrypted IP address and a keyed digest used to compare repeat matches. IP addresses are not shown in Discord messages or staff logs.
2. 2The verification page also sends a limited browser and device profile: browser and operating system identifiers, language preferences, time zone, screen dimensions and color depth, processor and memory capabilities, touch support, WebGL graphics vendor and renderer, and the browser automation flag. AltClamp converts these values into keyed browser and device signatures and keeps those signatures for up to 90 days after their last observation. It does not retain the raw profile. The signatures can be compared across servers that use AltClamp. The page does not read browsing history, other websites visited, installed extensions, files, camera, or microphone. These signals are not sent to the IP reputation providers.
3. 3AltClamp scores possible account links as Weak Match (10–30%), Possible Match (31–60%), Strong Match (61–90%), or Certain Match (91–100%). These are heuristic scores, not probabilities. One shared IP or one browser/device signature alone is weak evidence. Each server's policy determines whether strong and certain matches are reviewed or blocked. Strong or certain links to an account banned or previously verified in that server are blocked. Linked-account trees reduce confidence by half at each extra step and cannot exceed the weakest link. The server's normal review/block policy considers only candidate accounts who are currently members of that server. A Strong or Certain link to an account banned or previously verified there is blocked even if that account has left. Off-server accounts may be checked against that server's ban list but are not shown in its logs. Signals can produce false matches, including among people sharing a home, network, or computer. VPN, proxy, and Tor attempts are blocked without retaining their IP or browser/device signatures.
4. 4Verification links expire after five minutes. Successful IP/device observations and account-link evidence are normally retained for up to 90 days after the latest observation. Discord server staff can see account-link results in the server's configured private log channel; they do not see IP addresses or raw device details. The bot owner can use a password-protected security dashboard to view stored account IDs, link results, verification servers, and current membership in those servers. The dashboard never shows raw IP addresses. Use `/privacy` in a direct message with the bot to view verified servers and linked IPs, export your stored data, or request deletion. The export also includes your stored keyed browser and device signatures. A deletion request removes your AltClamp records across servers using this bot and asks the bot to remove verification roles where it has access; it cannot remove copies made outside the service.
